Devro Biomedical Facilities

Ideally located in the rural tablelands of Central-West New South Wales, Devro's Australian manufacturing facility has easy access to Australia's disease free herd of over 25 million cattle. Devro Australia finished construction
of a purpose built facility specifically for Biomedical production in 2003. This dedicated facility
has a team of engineers and scientists who have extensive experience in processing collagen using their skills and knowledge to tailor products which meet their customer's exact specifications.

A grade B clean room (ISO 14644-1 equivalent, class 7) in Scotland is available for further technical processing and production of finished medical devices.

Australian Supply
  • Devro’s Australian facility has been supplying collagen for medical applications since the 1980s.
  • Australia is one of the world’s leading beef producing and exporting countries and has effectively the largest closed herd in the world. Australia’s industry bodies and regulatory authorities have long recognised the need
for the world’s best practices in monitoring animal health and maintaining strict quarantine controls.
  • Export approved abattoirs, licensed by
    the Federal Government’s Department
of Agriculture Forestry & Fisheries and monitored by the Australian Quarantine
and Inspection Service (AQIS), process cattle to the highest standard.
  • Structured surveillance programmes, tagging systems, pre and postmortem veterinary examinations all contribute to making Australia one of the safest sources for healthy disease-free cattle in the world.
